| Matt Kirby has produced the occasional performance art piece, often in collaboration with Joel Sanderson. In 2007, Matt and Joel produced “Anthology,” a performance for the observance of International Dadaism Month at the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence, Kansas. The “Escapé Drive-In” events, which Joel Sanderson organized throughout the 1980s and 1990s, featured musical performances by Matt Kirby. “Ring of Fire,” for the 1990 Smoky Hill River Festival in Salina, Kansas, was a collaboration with composer Paul Elwood, and included a percussion concerto performed on plough discs. |
